Dementia/Alzheimer's Care
At Providence Marianwood, we provide enhanced professional care for individuals living with chronic and/or disabling dementia or Alzheimer's Disease. Our overall design promotes respectful and pleasant experiences and optimal mobility within a safe and secure home-like environment. All residents, regardless of their cognitive abilities are welcomed into our long term care households.
Care is based on relationship. Our staff begins by learning about each resident personally so they can better meet his/her needs. Our staff is experienced in the providing "resident-centered care" - an approach that focuses on and respects the preferences and choices of the resident. Our residents decide when to go to bed and when to wake up, are encouraged to eat when, where and what they choose, and are allowed everyday experiences to happen when they are best able to participate.
Activities, programs and therapies are individualized for each resident.
Support is also provided for families and others who are involved in the life of the resident.
