Postpartum Clinic

Postpartum ClinicSo, you’re finally at home settling in with your new baby. Maybe things are going well, just as you expected. Or maybe you have a thousand questions and need some guidance to ease your worries.

The Postpartum Clinic at Providence Regional is here to help both you and your baby thrive. From help with newborn care and caring for yourself to dealing with sleep deprivation and breastfeeding, our registered nurses offer you many years of experience along with a big dose of compassion.

What we offer you
The Postpartum Clinic is an outpatient service for moms and babies delivered at Providence Regional’s Family Maternity Center.

Before you and your baby leave the hospital, we’ll schedule an appointment for you to come back within 1 to 4 days. Our experienced, specially trained registered nurses are certified lactation consultants with expertise in breastfeeding and common newborn feeding problems.

At your appointment, one of our registered nurses will:

  • examine you and your baby to make sure you’re both healing and thriving. If a problem is identified, we'll contact your primary care provider and/or your baby's provider right away.
  • give you the opportunity to ask questions that have come up since you took your baby home.
  • provide helpful tips for baby care and emotional support for you.

At Providence Regional, we're committed to helping you learn all you can about being a new mom so that you can make informed healthcare decisions for yourself and your baby.
