Patient Satisfaction Survey Results

Why We Value Patient Feedback

Providence ministries have been measuring patient satisfaction for over a decade. This is because our leadership, care providers, and staff believe in the value of listening to those who are in our care. Patient satisfaction surveys are just one among many tools that we use on a regular basis to involve the patient in their care experience, and to improve the overall quality of care we deliver. Without this feedback we cannot improve.

How We Measure Patient Satisfaction

Providence ministries are continuously collecting patient satisfaction information as part of broader set of quality measures.  We have adopted a standard patient satisfaction survey tool to collect patient feedback across many different care settings including acute care, physician clinics and home health. These surveys are conducted by mail by our survey partner, Press Ganey Associates.

Our inpatient surveys include questions from the H-CAHPS tool (or Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems), which measure important aspects of the patient experience such as: clear communication, pain control, and information about medications.  All of our patient satisfaction surveys ask patients about each step in the care process, as well as how well we were able to meet the personal needs of our patients and their families. We also encourage patients to include comments in their own words to help us better understand their unique experience.

How We Share Our Results

We believe our patients should have access to measurable performance data on which to base their health care choices. That is why it is our pledge to publicly share our performance data and provide clear explanations of what these measures mean. Our H-CAHPS results are publicly available on the CMS Hospital Compare web site: http://www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov/.

To make it easier for our patients, or those considering us for future care, we have compiled this condensed H-CAHPS summary report. In it, you can see how most, if not all, hospitals in your metro area, or rural community compare to each other on the two global measures of satisfaction. To view this summary report, click here. Our Invitation to You

First and foremost, we encourage you to utilize the wealth of the healthcare quality information now available via the CMS Hospital Compare site, or other national healthcare benchmark sites so you can make an informed choice about your health care.  Should we have the opportunity to care for you and you receive a Press Ganey survey in the mail, we would also invite you to take a moment to complete and return a survey. This will help us continue our mission of providing the best care and service to all.
