Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance, located in the heart of Los Angeles' South Bay communities, has been providing medical care since 1960. Our 436-bed hospital admits over 17,000 patients each year. Our specialty programs and services include advanced da Vinci robotic surgery for gynecologic, urologic and cardiac procedures; a Heart Center offering advanced cardiac catheterization and angiography equipment, with coronary angioplasty and open heart surgery; and a Women and Children's Health Center offering a full range of educational classes, an inpatient obstetric unit, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and an on-site Perinatal Center providing complete fetal diagnostic testing and genetic counseling.
The Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance has recently received the Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission for Advanced Primary Stroke Centers, making it a preferred destination for ambulances transporting a patient with symptoms of acute stroke, within 30 minutes or less. In addition our Emergency Department is a 24-hour Emergency Medical Service site, with an Emergency Heart Care designation, also serving as a paramedic base station for the City of Torrance and areas of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance, in conjunction with Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, is committed to supporting the community through its social accountability budget. More than $20 million in charitable services is contributed annually to local communities impacting thousands of people. This contribution is delivered in the form of free care, immunizations, health education and other outreach services to at-risk patients in the South Bay and Harbor communities.
