Creating Healthier Communities, Together

In the face of rapidly changing health care, our commitment to our Mission to care for everyone remains unchanged. When the Sisters of Providence began our tradition of caring 158 years ago, our ministry greatly depended on partnering with others in the community who were committed to doing good. This same pioneering spirit continues today as our calling and our promise.

Together with our community partners, including the Public Health Advisory Council led by the Snohomish Health District, we performed a community health needs assessment to identify where the greatest unmet needs are among the communities we serve throughout Northwest Washington. These include:

  • Youth physical abuse
  • Youth and adult obesity
  • Youth and adult suicide
  • Youth dental decay
  • Primary care access
  • Prenatal care in the first trimester

While we’ll be involved in all these areas in partnership with the Snohomish Health District and other organizations, we will focus on primary care access and prenatal care in the first trimester. These are areas in which we have special expertise in and the ability to directly and greatly influence.

In our stories, you'll see examples of how we are working together to meet the needs of the community and to keep people healthy. It is our privilege to care for this community together.
