Cancer Support Group

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center offers a free cancer support group to individuals and their loved ones who have been affected by any type of cancer diagnosis. This group provides participants an informal and supportive environment where they can share concerns, fears and triumphs with each other.

Being diagnosed with cancer and going through the treatment process can bring up many questions and concerns, both for patients and their loved ones. This support group provides you with an opportunity to share your thoughts, feelings and concerns with others who are going through a similar process.

Benefits of a Cancer Support Group

  • Decreases anxiety and depression.
  • Decreases feelings of isolation and hopelessness.
  • Learn from others who have personal experience living with cancer.
  • Discuss issues such as the impact of diagnosis, coping with emotions, treatment effects, and access to community resources in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment

Lymphedema Support Group

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center offers a free Lymphedema Support Group to individuals and their loved ones who have been affected by any type of lymphedema. This group offers participants an informal and supportive environment where they can share concerns, fears and experiences.

Lymphedema can bring up many questions and concerns, both for patients and their loved ones. This support group provides you with an opportunity to share your thoughts, feelings and concerns with others who are going through a similar process.

  • Discuss issues such as the impact of diagnosis, coping with emotions, and access to community resources in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment.

Grief Support Group

This group is free to the community and offers an informal and supportive environment for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. There will be time to share concerns, fears, and triumphs with each other. Support groups normalize your feelings and offer a place to bond with other people who are experiencing similar
feelings of bereavement.

Participation
Participation in the group requires attending a series of meetings over a ten-week session. Session groups are limited to the first 15 registrants and you must register for the session. Meetings will be closed to new participants after the third session.
