Surgery

There ís a reason many of the San Fernando Valley's finest physicians choose to perform surgery at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. We provide exceptional, compassionate care with our superior nursing staff along with the technological sophistication and expertise typically found at a larger facility.

Each year we perform thousands of orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures including minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, single incision gallbladder surgery, trauma brain injuries and surgical critical care, and cancer surgery. We also perform plastic surgery, podiatric surgery and ENT surgery (ear, nose, throat). The surgery teams at Providence Holy include board-certified surgeons, highly trained anesthesiologists, surgical nurses, and highly trained surgery technicians.  Our trauma surgeons are on staff and available in our Trauma Center, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to care for those who experience major trauma injuries. The surgery teams at Providence Holy in addition to the surgeon include highly trained anesthesiologists, surgical nurses, and highly trained surgery technicians.

Providence Holy Cross has a team of specialists that perform a wide variety of surgeries that include orthopedic surgery, heart and vascular surgery, cancer surgery, neurosurgery, surgery of the digestive system (gastroenterology), urologic surgery, and obstetrics and gynecological surgery.

At Providence, we use a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) that provides physician viewing of all diagnostic images, including PET/CT and MRI images and patient reports. PACS offers secured access through the Internet and provides physicians with this real-time viewing whether they are at the hospital, in the imaging center or even in their private practice office. PACS also provides an opportunity for physicians to consult on-line regarding an examination in progress, greatly enhancing communications for those delivering care.

At Providence Holy Cross, we recognize that surgery can be physically, emotionally and spiritually challenging. To address these challenges, we provide support services to help with any social services needs, with pastoral care, with equipment needs, and, when needed, with financial assistance.
