Events & Groups Calendar 

 

Workshops, events, and support groups are held at Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98109 except where noted.  Some groups require registration.  All services are offered at little to no cost to the community. We gladly accept donations.

  

Special Events

Stories of the Heart- Annual Memorial Service

Join us as we gather together to reflect, remember, and honor loved ones who've died in the past year. Participants are welcome to bring a photo of the loved one who died  to place on the memorial table.

Illusive Images: The Voices of Teens in a Landscape of Change
Safe Crossings and the Northwest School join hands in presenting this unique performance piece created and performed by teens is based upon teen journal entries recording their experiences with chronic or terminal illnesses, hospitalization, and grief. The piece promotes an understanding of the courage and fortitude of these young people as weel as the diversity of the human spirit. Please note: children 13 and under are not encouraged to attend due to the sensitive nature of the program.

Newly Bereaved Support and Education
Grief support and education for people who have experienced a loss within the last three months.  This is a drop-in, one-time-only group. Registration not required.

Partner/Spousal Loss Support Group
A monthly drop-in group for adults who have experienced the death of a spouse or partner in the past year.  Registration not required.

The Mother’s Tea
A supportive gathering for mothers of adult children (21 or older) who have died.

For Children and Teens

Registration Required Groups & Workshops

Parent/Child Grief Support Group
Support group for children (ages 5 to 12) and their parents.  Children share feelings through talk, art, and play, while parents meet separately to explore ways to cope with their own grief and support their children.  Registration required.

    • Spring 2012 group: Tuesdays, May 1 through June 5, 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.

Camps

Family Day Camps

Come together with other kids, teens, and families for education, play, and support in an outdoor setting. Bring a picnic lunch, swim gear, and blankets or folding chairs to sit on.

June 27 and July 25

These day camps provide offerings for kids and teens that have experienced  the loss of someone special.

August 15

This day camp features a special program for kids and teens that have experienced the loss of a sibling.

Camp Erin®-King County

A three-day overnight grief support camp for kids and teens who've experienced the death of a loved one. Space is limited and registration is required.
