Black Tie Bingo Another Huge Success!

Thanks to our generous supporters, an all-time high $185,000 was raised at our 12th annual Black Tie Bingo on April 21st at Bell Harbor Conference Center. Over 340 guests enjoyed a fun and festive evening including silent auction, wine grab, dessert dash, delicious dinner, and of course, seven great games of bingo with fabulous prizes.

The Providence Mount St. Vincent Foundation wishes to thank its sponsors of this year’s event: The Providence Mount St. Vincent Auxiliary; Graham Construction & Engineering; Marsh; Gordon Tilden Thomas & Cordell, LLP; US Bank; Swedish Health Services; Rxtra Care Pharmacy; Denali Advanced Integration; Sullivan Conard Architects; Sodexo; Fran’s Chocolates; Perkins Coie; Home Instead Senior Care; Duck Delivery, C & S Associates; Choice Linen; Team Photogenic; Westside Children’s Dentistry; and Glass Vodka. A new sponsor this year, Glass Vodka sponsored our signature cocktail, the “B-1.”

In addition, special thanks to those who donated items to our silent auction and wine grab and to our volunteers, led by event chair Philip Sternola, who worked tirelessly to make sure the event was fun and successful for all involved.

10th Annual Legacy Community Luncheon: Oct. 11, 2012

Save the date for the 10th Annual Legacy Community Luncheon on October 11, 2012 at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel. Our keynote speaker is Rwandan genocide survivor Immaculee Ilizagiza. Immaculee's life was transformed dramatically during the 1994 Rwandan genocie where she and seven other women spent  91 days huddled silently in the cramped bathroom of a local pastor's house. She credits her survial mostly to prayer and to a set or rosary beads given to her devout Catholic father. Rather than succumbing to rage, Immaculee instead turned to praying the rosary as a way of drowning out her anger and fears. She not only found solace and peace in prayer, Immaculee eventually found it possible, and in fact imperative, to forgive her tormentors and her family's murderers.
