Hospice Hearts Luncheon
Over 420 guests, including corporate sponsors came together for our 2nd annual Hospice Hearts Luncheon at The Conference Center at Comcast Arena in Everett, WA on April 25, 2012.
Chaired by board member, Ken Clay, with Jesse Jones of King 5 News as Emcee, the event raised over $123,000. Proceeds will benefit Hospice, Palliative Care, Home Care, Bereavement Services, The Carousel Program, and Camp Erin.
Keynote speaker for the afternoon was Karl A. Pillemer, Ph.D. Dr. Pillemer is a professor of Human Development at Cornell University and Professor of Gerontology at the Weill Cornell Medical College. He shared with guests his findings after interviewing close to 1,500 seniors from around the country, asking them about their life lessons and what they wished they had learned in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. From these interviews, Dr. Pillemer wrote his latest book entitled 30 Lessons for Living – Tried and True Advice from the Wisest Americans. Each guest received a copy of this book as a gift from Dr. Pillemer.
