Emergency Services

All of Providence Regional's emergency care services are now located at the beautiful new Marshall and Katherine Cymbaluk Medical Tower on the Colby Campus. (The Pacific Campus ER closed on June 16.)

An entire floor—larger than an NFL football field—is exclusively devoted to Emergency Services.

With 79 private treatment rooms—each larger than the national average—and 67,460 square feet of space, the Emergency Services department is designed so patients can receive treatment quickly, with minimal wait time.

Listen to Dr. Enrique Enguidanos and Preston Simmons, Chief Operating Officer, talk about the new ER on KRKO radio.

Washington's best hospital for emergency care
The prestigious HealthGrades 2010 Emergency Medicine Excellence Award™, puts Providence Regional's Emergency Services among the top 5% in the nation according to HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization.

And it's good to know that in case you're admitted, you’ll be in good hands. Providence Regional was once again graced with several prestigious awards, including a #1 ranking in Cardiac Care, Stroke Treatment, Critical Care, and General Surgery.

An Emergency department is the right place to go for help when you have a potentially life-threatening issue such as:
• Discomfort or tightness in the chest
• More than usual shortness of breath
• Severe abdominal pain
• Prolonged and persistent headache
• A child with prolonged diarrhea or vomiting
• A baby under six months with a fever of 100.4°F or higher
• A major crisis that causes you to feel suicidal or hopeless

Consider a Walk-in Clinic as an alternative to the Emergency department if you have an urgent, yet non-life-threatening issue such as:

• Common cold or flu
• Sore throat or cough
• Ear infection
• Minor burn or cut
• Eye or sinus infection
• Routine migraine headache
• Sports injury or sprain
• Rash
