Sacred Harmonies Music Therapy
Offered through Providence Regional's Spiritual Care Department, the peaceful bedside harp music of Sacred Harmonies soothes body and soul, offering patients a time for contemplation and deep rest.
Sacred Harmonies music-thanatologists use harp and voice to gently create an atmosphere of reverence and peace for patients and families. The music is tailored for each patient according to their respiration and medical condition.
Music-thanatology is a professional field within the broader sub-specialty of end-of-life care. Learn more about music-thanatology.
Patient and family benefits
The music of Sacred Harmonies can help patients sleep, meditate, pray, or simply find a sense of peace. The soothing sound of the harp transcends language barriers and religious differences and benefits not only the patient but also family members.
Therapeutic harp visits may be requested for times of anxiety, physical or spiritual restlessness, sleeplessness, or discomfort. To request a harpist, call 425-261-4550.
