Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Newborn Intensive Care Unit

Sometimes babies enter this world much sooner than expected, or under special circumstances.

If your baby is born prematurely, it's good to know that Providence Regional's Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) can provide your newborn with the complex level of care and monitoring that may be necessary.

Partnering with Seattle Children's
Operating in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, our NICU is the only newborn unit north of Seattle that offers such an intensive level of care for critically ill or unstable newborns.

Expert care, 24/7
Our staff includes an on-site team of neonatal nurse practitioners who are expertly trained to manage newborn emergencies 24/7. They work closely with our neonatologists in addition to assisting you and your child's physician in caring for your newborn.

Private rooms for families
The NICU is equipped with 23 single-patient private rooms and three double rooms for hospitalized twins. All are designed to encourage your family's presence and participation.

Each room offers a sleeper and rocking chair so parents can stay near, and is located in close proximity to nursing stations to accommodate communication with caregivers.
