John O. “Jack” Mudd 

Senior vice president, Mission leadership

John O. “Jack” Mudd serves as senior vice president of Mission leadership for Providence Health & Services. His job is to see that the Mission and values are reflected in daily decisions and practices across the five-state system.

He previously served as senior vice president of Providence Health Care in Spokane. Before to joining Providence in 2000, he worked in private law practice and was also dean and professor of law at the University of Montana.

Mudd holds doctoral and master’s degrees in law from Columbia University, a juris doctorate from the University of Montana and a master’s in philosophy from the Catholic University of America. Gonzaga University awarded him with an honorary doctorate degree for his work in health care leadership.
