Nursing Excellence: Professional

What do Magnet and Pathway to Excellence Recognition mean to you?

These programs are not awards. They are professional credentials bestowed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in recognition of highest standards in nursing care and professional practice. Hospitals and skilled nursing facilities that pursue this exclusive credential must complete a multi-year application process that engages the entire organization: nurses, physicians, executive leadership and board of directors. Recipients must maintain their status through regular re-application. Less than 10% of all eligible facilities in the country have received Magnet® or Pathway to Excellence® designation.
