This weekend a dedicated team of Providence and Swedish employees will depart for Guatemala as part of a Providence Health International service trip. Follow updates from their journey on the news blog and facebook page as they install new cooking stoves and improve ventilation in many homes. In these impoverished communities, a family's only way to prepare food is to use an indoor, open fire that produces a thick smoke in the home – causing acute respiratory infections in women and children under the age of five. Support your co-workers as they reach beyond our borders to reduce serious health hazards for those who are poor and vulnerable in Guatemala.

Providence Health International provides opportunities to learn, serve and contribute internationally – leveraging the resources and talents of our health care organization to improve and promote global health. Regardless of national boundaries, compassionate service to those who are poor and vulnerable has been a part of the Providence Mission since the Sisters of Providence began their work in Montreal nearly 170 years ago. Learn how you can get involved in global health projects, both locally and internationally.
