Providence Health International invites employees to come together across ministries in service of those who are poor and vulnerable in Guatemala. You can apply your medical skills or non-clinical talents by participating in a 2014 service trip. Volunteer projects include public health improvement, rural medical clinic and surgical relief.
Submit an application by Sept. 30 so we can find the best placement for you.
Feb. 1-9, 2014: Public Health Team (California employees only)February 28- March 8, 2014: Surgical Team (Washington employees only) Application deadline extended to Oct. 30!May 10-17, 2014: Rural Medical Clinic Team (Oregon, Montana, Washington and Alaska employees only)May 17-25, 2014: Public Health Team (Eastern Washington employees only)Sept. 20-28, 2014: Public Health Team (Oregon employees only)More fall 2014 dates to be determined.
Volunteers are accepted on a skills-needed, first come and first served basis. Volunteers are expected to participate in pre-trip orientation meetings, reflections and following the trip, and debrief gatherings.
Additionally, volunteers are asked to pay part of their in-country expenses and travel costs (totaling $800), raise additional trip funds and use their PTO to participate.
