Providence Centralia Hospital's Emergency Department is a Washington state Level III designated trauma facility and serves as the base station for direction of pre-hospital care throughout Lewis County.

In 2006, we expanded and renovated our emergency department. The new Centralia ER, with nearly 15,000 square feet, offers 22 private treatment rooms.

Our patient care staff includes physicians who are board certified in emergency medicine, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and emergency department technicians. This highly skilled medical team is experienced in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

How to use 911

When you call 911 you can reach the fire department, the police or an ambulance.

Follow these important steps for a successful 911 call:

1. Stay calm. The dispatcher cannot help you if they cannot understand you. Taking a deep breath and trying to calm yourself will help them communicate better with you.

2. Know where you are. If you are dialing from a LAN line phone the dispatcher can tell where you are calling from. But if you are on a cell phone they can only tell a general vicinity.

3. Answer the dispatchers questions to the best of your ability.

4. Follow the dispatchers instructions. They are trained to help you in almost every emergency situation.

5. Do not hang up until directed to by the dispatcher.
