In 1886, the Sisters of Providence arrived in the Spokane region on a mission to help those in need. 125 years later, our 12 ministries and 8,500 employees in Eastern Washington are still devoted to that calling.

The principles that guided those pioneering Sisters remain alive today in the 12 Providence ministries serving Eastern Washington. Compassionate service, with special attention to the poor and underserved, remains our mission.

And in the same pioneering spirit that is our legacy, we continue to advance new ways of improving the health and well-being of the people we serve.

It’s this deep, personal calling that drives everything we do, it’s who we are.
