A urologist is a physician who has been board certified by the American Board of Urology and specializes in problems surrounding the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs.
Urologists generally treat conditions involving the kidney, ureter, urinary bladder, urethra and male reproductive organs.
Common disorders include:
- Continuous urinary tract infections
- Enlarged prostate
- Incontinence, overactive bladder
- Kidney stones
- Painful bladder syndrome (interstital cystitis)
- Male infertility
