Pharmacy Residency Program
The Sacred Heart Pharmacy Department, in affiliation with the Washington State University College of Pharmacy, provides clinical training for pharmacists seeking residency training.
We provide training through a variety of programs:
- Postgraduate Year One and Two (PGY1 and PGY2):
One year residency programs for graduated pharmacists.
- Pharmacy Student Intern program
Employment opportunities for student pharmacists.
- Pharmacy Student Rotations.
Advanced Pharmacy Practice.
- Pharmacy Student Practice Experiences.

- Pharmacy Technician Rotations
The ASHP-accredited Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) program is designed to provide advanced pharmaceutical training in a hospital pharmacy practice setting. Students experience a wide variety of clinical rotations that draw upon the strengths of our clinical pharmacy program. Key program elements include a pharmacy practice-related project, as well as administrative and distributive pharmacy activities. Five PGY1 positions are available.
The department also supports an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in Critical Care. This program offers advanced critical care training experience with a focus on Adult Intensive Care. Elective rotations offer intensive care experiences in Neurology, Cardiac, Pediatric, Neonatal and other critical care areas.
