Gordon S. Teel, MD
Director

Thank you for your interest in the Radiology Residency program at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital. Our program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and meets all of the requirements of the American Board of Radiology.

We are a small, friendly, community-based program, providing four years of excellent training in all aspects of medical imaging. Residents receive their training in a modern tertiary care hospital and several busy state-of-the-art imaging centers.

We believe in giving residents one-on-one staff to resident teaching. Throughout their training, residents are supervised by fellowship-trained radiologists. As they gain experience and knowledge, residents are given graduated responsibility in managing patients and performing procedures. By the end of the residency they are able to function as junior faculty.

Daily conferences at Providence Sacred Heart help our Spokane residents develop the knowledge and skills needed for a general radiology practice.Daily conferences, a weekly physics course, journal clubs, practice examinations and the AIRP course all help our residents develop the knowledge and skills needed for a general radiology practice. Once a week, all residents are excused from their rotations to participate in an afternoon teaching session. Cases, didactic lectures and exam preparation are reviewed with faculty supervision.

We hope you’ll take the time to visit Spokane. The surrounding forests, lakes and mountains provide wonderful recreational opportunities. Sacred Heart offers a friendly, stimulating environment for the resident in training.
