Providence Tarzana Medical Center is a 245-bed, not-for-profit medical center that serves the San Fernando Valley, offering high quality specialty services, including: heart and vascular care, a Diabetes Care Center , orthopedic, and oncology and senior services.

Recognizing the special health care needs of women and children, Providence Tarzana established the Women's Pavilion & Resource Center in 1983, which provides women's health and maternity care in one central location. The hospital specializes in pediatrics and has one of the largest neonatal intensive care units in the San Fernando Valley. Hospitals throughout the area transfer their pediatric and neonatal patients who need surgery to Providence Tarzana because of it has a California Children's Services (CCS) surgery certification.

Providence Tarzana specializes in transfusion-free surgeries and medical procedures, with more than 200 board-certified physicians and surgeons who have performed nearly 3,000 transfusion-free procedures. Additionally, Providence Tarzana treated more than 30,000 patients in our Emergency Department last year.

The medical center has an active medical staff of more than 900 renowned physicians and employs more than 1,500 staff - including 500 RNs - who share a commitment to provide quality care for all.

The quality care provided by Providence Tarzana Medical Center has been recognized by several prestigious awards, including HealthGrades™ five-star rating for treatment of heart attack, heart failure and stroke for six years in a row (2004 - 2009); the top five percent in the nation for treatment of stroke; the top five percent nationally for excellence in maternity care six years in a row (2003 - 2009); the top ten percent nationally in women's healthcare excellence five years in a row (2004 - 2009); the top ten percent in the nation for overall gastrointestinal services; and, recipient of the 2008 HealthGrades Gastrointestinal Excellence Award.
